I love to play all types of games. The game wall (which doesn't even hold them
all) has three 6' bookshelves running the gamut from Monopoly and Risk through
Iron Dragon and Robo Rally to Lunch Money and Give Me The Brain. Plus most
card/board/dice games in between!
Internet Dueling League: MJ and I run the
IDL. It's a way
to play Car Wars with people who can't come to your house. We've had a few
internet duels with some house and qualifying rules.
Why do I love games? Here is a quote
(shown here without permission) from Guards! Guards! by Terry Pratchett:
"It is said that the gods play games with the lives of men. But what games, and why, and the identities of the actual pawns, and what the game is, and what the rules are - who knows?
Best not to speculate.
Thunder rolled.
It rolled a six."
MicroMachines 64 Mike and I get a huge kick
out of racing the little cars on the table, the floor, and the garden
in this Nintendo 64 game.
PC Games With the networked PCs at home,
we like to play Masters of Orion II, Army Men, and WarCraft.
Conventions Lots of fun. I usually hang out,
play lots of games, teach a ton of games, learn a few new games and work
in the dealer's area. I've taken a bit of a hiatus from attending Origins and
GenCon in the last couple years (yes, real life can change plans). But I do
continue to work for Cheapass
Games as the VP of PR.
